The design engineers provides an initial design into these proprietary design tools and in 2 - 5 days our computers will return a fully optimized magnetic design using a user specified objective function. These design tools can be made available to 3rd parties on a limited basis.

Our computerized design tools feature an intuitive user interface where a motor designer can enter all relevant parameters and specify the constraints and objectives for which he/she wishes to optimize the design. The optimization includes the controller topology and control parameters. Several proprietary MATLAB controller models are available to provide for the overall optimization of the system design as well as the motor alone. We believe that this automated design system can improve the motor design and significantly reduce time and cost to design the most cost effective high performance motors. SRM (Switched Reluctance Motor) designs with efficiencies as high as 97% have been achieved and even better efficiencies have been obtained for IPM (Internal Permanent Magnet Motor) motors. The design accuracy is second to none and the cost of the overall magnetic motor design and the optimization of the control algorithms are greatly reduced. Rocky Mountain Technologies has decided to make these tools available on a limited basis for select customers and applications.
